Life Chain

Eighty (80) people showed up to pray for life in Chesterland on 10/2, many of them from St. Helen Church. Our purpose is to let others know that all life is valuable, especially life in the womb. Many of the responses from those who passed by was positive and encouraging. However, the verbal responses and the gestures made by the younger generation, especially those between 16 and 30 years of age, is very concerning. It seems that as the generations haver passed since Roe in 1973, there is less and less respect for life itself. God, please pray that those who hate life will find meaning and purpose to their life.

Birthright Geauga, Inc. Baby Shower | October 1 and October 30th

The Geauga County Catholic Pro-Life Coalition (H.E.L.P.*), together with Knights of Columbus Council #3304*, sponsored a baby shower to benefit Geauga Birthright. Birthright Geauga, Inc. opened a new location in the center of Geauga County (Newbury) to better serve the physical and financial needs of expectant parents and all who are trying to support a family during this trying time. 

As you know Roe vs. Wade has been overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, shifting the responsibility back to Ohio to govern abortions. In Ohio, child killing is outlawed once a baby’s heartbeat is present. With the heartbeat bill now in effect, a drastic increase for material and financial support is needed by Birthright Geauga, Inc. to help meet those facing a crisis pregnancy or hard economic times. This need is monumental as 10,000 babies are killed annually within the Diocese of Cleveland alone. 

HOW DID WE HELP? Between October 1 and October 30th we collected material goods and financial aid to benefit Birthright Geauga, Inc. Donations were collected and presented to Birthright Geauga, Inc at its new location in Newbury during its grand opening in November. Items needed included the following:

Pull-ups, Diapers & Formula on an emergency basis, Blankets & any other baby items, Laundry Soap, Toiletries, Clothing sizes 0-6T, Shoes, Boots, Outerwear, Gift Cards to local stores for mothers to purchase baby cribs (used cribs cannot be donated), Monetary donations in the form of a check made out to BIRTHRIGHT GEAUGA, INC.

The Geauga County Catholic Pro-Life Coalition (H.E.L.P.) is an alliance between all of the Catholic pro-life groups within the seven churches that serve Geauga County. The Birthright Baby Shower was part of the Knights of Columbus Program, Aid and Support After Pregnancy (ASAP).  This program embodies the Knights of Columbus’ efforts to support pregnant women, mothers and their new children by serving pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes.

Healing Retreat 2022, Bethesda House of Mercy | October 21-23

WEEKEND HEALING RETREAT Women suffering after an abortion are invited to a confidential, private healing retreat at Loyola Retreat House, just north of Canton. October 21-23, 2022.  Encounter the mercy of the Lord through the sacraments, prayer and scripture. 

40 Days for Life Supporters at Preterm | November 6th

Plan to pray with 40 Days for Life Supporters at Preterm, the largest abortion provider in the State of Ohio. We will pray the Stations of the Cross for the Victims of Abortion and give thanksgiving to the Lord of Life for His blessings on the 40 Days for Life 2022 Fall Campaign. Address: 12000 Shaker Boulevard Cleveland, OH 44120, Time: 3:00 PM
